I couldn't install 1.1.4 onto 14.04 using the Wily package so I compiled
the 1.1.14+dfsg package from source. It continued to issue the

time being by setting the log_level to "warn" for "general" and "error"

I just ran dist-upgrade on my Kubuntu 14.04 system, and when it finished I had
four kernels and associated files in /boot:
3.16.0.33-generic
3.16.0.38-generic
3.16.0.43-generic
3.16.0.44-generic
Autoremove failed to identify any of these. I had to run apt-get remove
for the 33 and 38 kernels.
Also I'm pretty sure the bug lies in the package shared-mime-info. It
certainly isn't limited to Nautilus alone since I use Kubuntu and the
bug shows up there:

OK, I spoke to soon. Hibernation works if I choose that option via the

Just for completeness, release kernel 3.2.0-24 shows the same behavior

An ever bigger problem is that the installer leaves behind all the stale
kernels in /boot. I can see keeping the most recent good kernel, and
even perhaps the next-oldest version, but kernels older than that should
be removed by ubiquity. If you allocate /boot to a separate partition,
as I do,
