Probably should have said this earlier: When the USB HD is set to automount and I turn it on, the CPU power will shoot up to max on both cores despite being on powersave or dynamic. Applications will run, but at snails pace, and I usually have problems getting access to the internet. i.e chat messa

This is the output when i type dmesg. The hardrive has not been set to mount automatically, but has been manually mounted before typing the message. (Right click, Mount). The name of the USB HD is "USB" and it is approx 297GB in size. ** Attachment added: "dmesg" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/1
