The problem results from an incompatibility between Xorg 7.3 and the
driver that is supplied by the Ubuntu package. The newest development
version (0.7.9-7 at the moment) contains a temporary workaround for Xorg
7.3.
Therefore a workaround for the bug is: Download the most recent
development sourc

Confirmed on Ubuntu 7.10 release. Steps to reproduce:
1. Boot the alternate installer CD
2. Select manual partitioning
3. Mark a partition for use as "physical volume for encryption"
4. Change encryption key from "passphrase" to "random key"
5. Try to configure the encrypted volumes
6. Watch it dy

If the issue appears while not using roaming mode, i.e. putting the data
in the System -> Administration -> Network -> interface mask and not the
network manager applet I can confirm this. This is pretty annoying if

I can confirm this bug with the Gutsy Gibbon RC1 alternate installer. In
addition to the issues mentioned above, the installer also falls back to
English. It is possible to switch consoles. I think this bugreport

I think my problem is located in the fact that there I have no real
ACPI-support for my Acer-model. The brightness control via the hotkeys
seems to be done by the BIOS not by any ACPI-event. Even the available
"acer-acpi" module doesn't support my Travelmate C200 series notebook. I

When I tried to install the nvidia-glx driver via the restricted-manager
it wanted to install the linux-restricted-modules for the 386 kernel as
dependency. But this is unnecessary because the generic restricted
modules were already installed. And because the 386 restricted modules

time was in hours rather than in minutes it would be correct. You can
see this very good when you compare the output of acpi for a while with
