I have connected USB speakers, while I was using Kubuntu 9.04. From web
guides I learned I need to install PulseAudio for USB speakers to work.
It did work, but only for my user (I have other users on the system),
and it did not work with Flash movies - they had no sound.

Don't know how to close the request...
I played with PulseAudio some more. After purging all Pulse related packages,
and removing etc files, I reinstalled Pulse. I then rebooted the machine - and
now it seems to work. Not sure how and why, but I am happy to hear sound again!

It was a problem in my local ubuntu mirrored repository. I have enabled
the official repositories, and the upgrade went well.
