@connorp, Are you using GRUB or GRUB2? Do you know? You can tell by checking to see if you have a file in /boot/grub called menu.list. If you do, you grub GRUB. If you don't, you have GRUB2. -- Ubuntu 9.10 crashes when run without monitor or when monitor sleeps.
