I was surprised to see that this bug goes back to version 16
Yet I'm on Xubuntu 14.04 and Thunderbird 31, and still getting massive imap
traffic when leave Thunderbird open.
In a few minutes download traffic goes up to 600KiB/s and not to mention high
CPU usage.
Workarounds?

Mine wireless is cripled too.
I had normal speed with my laptop's wireless card in Intrepid but since I
installed Jaunty beta I have poor speed. It jumps, stops then for few secs is
normal and the all over again. As I said, no such issue with ath5k in Interpid

I can confirm this annoying behaviour of wireless interface. Altough,
module loaded at my laptop is ath5k but still, I have the same symptoms.
Seems like it is something wrong with the driver for atheros cards. :(

Well only thing I know is that suspend/resume does NOT working. Even
with newest update of kernel, 2.6.27-12 and newest Catalyst 9.1 fglrx, I
still can't make my laptop resume from suspend. I use KDE4 but with
effects disabled.
