I’ve found out something about this bug:
If you use parameter “-q 0”, netcat won’t print the result. This is a bug.
But if you use something else like “-q 1” or something like that, the output
will be correct.
A Ubuntu specific patch changes the default value of parameter -q to the
“bad” value

I have the same issue, too.
I need a transparent png and this is only possible with Cairo. Currently I must
export it as a svg image (without Cairo) and create a png image with inkscape.

I'm also unable to install eclipse via apt-get. The package eclipse is

I had the same problem. The (same) script worked in Intrepid, too. The behavior
of /etc/rc.local must have changed in Jaunty.
My solution is to use start-stop-daemon:
start-stop-daemon --start --name acerfand --startas
/usr/local/bin/acerfand --background

I have the same problem.
I didn't install mscorefonts, but I copied my fonts from my old windows
in /usr/share/fonts/truetype/windowsfonts. I have temporary removed the
folder. It didn't help.
A windows version of OpenOffice can read the files without problems. I
don't understand it. I tried to
