sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mrpouit/ppa
which gets me the STABLE 2.8.6 version of abiword on my Ubuntu 12.04
PRODUCTION SYSTEM. Not a single crash or weird behaviours since then.
Meanwhile, crash reports with 2.9.2

Given that my previous link clearly show A LOT of crasher bugfixes have gone
into the QQ version I feel that marking this report invalid is very
inapropriate. Thus I'm instead making this a duplicate of

I have constant crashes with UNSTABLE* abiword 2.9.2 when working with
documents created STABLE* abiword 2.8.6.

than just problems with scrolling. When I open docs created in 2.86 and

Is there a bug open somewhere that puts in question the entire existance
of this update script as a cronjob? Please someone direct me to it in
that case.
On my laptop, where automatic updates are completely turned off it's
just insane that this cronjob updates are run at all, ever. It should be

I got the HUAWEI E182E to work on two laptops with the following
procedure.
1) gksu gedit /etc/udev/rules.d/15-huawei-e182e.rules
2) Paste and save the following

From a users POV it makes no sense at all that an icon isnt displayed if
a Window software CD is inserted. After all, putting an W2k+ software
CD into Windows 98 still shows the CD icon I presume. So there is no
