I tried this in Natty (11.04). I can't reproduce the original problem
because assigning keyboard shortcuts in this way no longer works.
However, the Keyboard Shortcuts program (gnome-keybinding-properties) has been
enhanced and now has an Add button. This appears to be the better way to assign

In Ubuntu 9.10, recorded DVD-R disks don't show an icon on the desktop
and can't be played. Identical blank DVD-R disks mount properly, as do
commercial DVDs. The same recorded DVD-R disks that don't mount in 9.10
work fine in Ubuntu 8.10.

I have this issue as well, on a fresh install of 10.04 using an ext3
file system. Pressing left arrow during the disk check appears to work
around the issue for me.

I'm not able to try a development release but I confirmed that the issue
still exists and ran the apport-collect command anyway.

FYI: I was unable to reproduce this in Ubuntu 8.10 (Brasero version

I just built a PC using the Intel DP43TF board. I don't have the same
problem as the original poster but have some observations that might be
helpful.
The original BIOS firmware on my board was version 0051 dated August 4,
2008. That version would not boot Ubuntu 8.04 or 8.10. Ubuntu 8.04
dropped
I have additional information.
I'd been working around this issue by powering on the USB drive and then
starting XSane with my USB scanner turned off. XSane immediately
generated an error because the scanner was off, but the USB activity
apparently caused the USB drive to mount.

I booted from an Ubuntu 8.10 live CD and noticed that Intrepid does not
appear to have this bug -- my USB drive mounted without me having to

I booted from the latest Intrepid live CD (build date October 29). In
Intrepid, xvidtune still has the same error as in Hardy.
Attached are the requested files from my test in Intrepid.
This issue is no longer important to me; I found a work-around for my
situation.
