I tried to install from DVD only. Installation does work correctly, no problems
anymore.

Installation from alternate-beta (Kubuntu) could be finished without any
problem.
First reboot after installation reports a few problems:
udevd-event: unable to create db file /dev/.udev/ ([EMAIL PROTECTED]@mice,

In the meantime the package list was updated. mysql-client-4.1 does now
exist. And both, server and client-4.1, are marked as transitional
package.
Anyway, I'm not really happy about this. MySQL 5.x might work for my
applications, I need to test this environment.

Text based installation from alternate-deskop-i386 CD did start
correctly. Installation begun but was stopped during unpacking software
with an error message about an invalid paket on the CD. A failed md5sum
for "/pool/main/k/kubuntu-docs/kubuntu-docs_7.04" was reported.
After manually installing
md5sum is correct (e8b413e3d51173d5471ade85862a46b5).
I could just test the same CD on my notebook. Herd-5 does boot
correctly. ISO Image and CD are ok.

I tried to boot from Kubuntu Herd-5 Desktop CD. No matter which mode I
select nor which additional command line options I add, during booting
from CD the system does hang. (BTW, I'm missing the text based
installation?!)
Several error messages appears, depending on the comman

unfortunately not. Because I never need to manually load the module and
automatic mounting of the cryptdisks partition during system boot did work
correctly since I installed Kubuntu 5.10 past year.
To be honest, in the meantime I found the correct mod
