I'd recorded a file in Audacity a couple of days ago, and exported it as
a 24-bit flac file. Today I opened that flac in Audacity and started
editing it. After a some successful editing, I was playing back a
little of the track, and when I hit the Stop button, Audacity froze

I wanted Linux right from the start. Is it possible to update my BIOS

On second thought, I did get an Ubuntu crash report window automatically
come up while using this kernel, but it wasn't a kernel panic like I was
getting sometimes with the standard kernel, and it wasn't at boot.
Still, it could be a different presentation of the same underlying bug,
so I'll mentio
I installed both linux-image*amd64.deb files in the v3.6.2-quantal
directory. Using this kernel, I cannot reproduce the crash any more,
though I can still reproduce it with linux-image-3.2.0-32-generic.

I have this problem, too. My project stops at 890 MiB of 4258 MiB. I'm
using Precise. Are the bug-fixers still waiting for any information
from affected users?

I tried to burn a video DVD with Brasero. I lined up some mpg videos to add,
put a blank DVD in the drive, and clicked "Burn". Then I got an error message
saying:
"Installing packages by files isn't supported
"This method hasn't yet been implemented."

I also have a 0711:5100 device that didn't work with Lucid, and doesn't
work with Precise. If I have enough spare time and energy (almost
certainly no sooner than next week), I may try editing the file as
suggested in comment #16. I assume that comment is expecting the kernel
to be compiled from
Somehow lvm2 ended up being installed, although every run I tried of
apt-get still complained. I got my home partition resized, which was my
original goal.
