I tested this tonight using a 10.10 boot cd and it worked fine.

1.99-12ubuntu5 a change was committed to grub2 which prevents it booting
from a USB key on my laptop (Asus M5000).

Platform: Asus M5200A laptop.
Upgrading to Gusy and my laptop wireless light turned off. Had to reboot
into windows to turn it back on. After modprobe rfkill and rfkill_input,
fn-f2 (wireless hotkey) was able to turn off the wireless (hardswitch),
but not reenable it.

Problem appears fixed under Gutsy linux-image-2.6.22-5-generic.
