Same problem here.. Debian Sid / Amarok 1.4.7 Except I am NOT using the crossfading option. Instead I have a complicated sqlite query in a smart playlist which in turn polulates a dynamic playlist. It's quite a lot of CPU thrashing to repopulate the list. Perhaps it is the excessive CPU usage
