I have this same problem with the UI freezing up. It always occurs when
I resize a window, although not every time I resize a window. The app
running inside the window isn't always the same, it is more often a code
editor or a web browser, or a zoom meeting. The result is that the UI
freezes up
I had some problems when using grub-efi-amd64-signed rather than grub-
efi-amd64. Unfortunately not consistent enough to create a coherent bug
report. A number of times I ended up dropping into grub command line.
That seemed not to happen with the unsigned version.

Since focal the change I originally asked for at the beginning of this
thread has now been made. If you set up multi efi partitions, not
raided, when you run "dpkg-reconfigure grub-efi-amd64" the system asks
which efi partitions you wish to use. You can specify more than one and
it then installs

error is no longer logged. Some boots on my HP laptop with a 5400RPM

environment variable to put the config in ~/gtk-gnutella. Before
testing 1.2.0 I cleared everything out so I had a clean set up, not
realising that that would cause a p

I think you've missed the point. There is a bug that was introduced by
the upgrade from 19.10 to 20.04. I assume it is somewhere in Samba.
My use of NT1 is not meant to be a fix for the reason you have given.

@ogra This is a bug in the core[16] snap. I'm not sure why we'd even
consider SRU'ing to UC18 or UC20. On both of the those systems, core
wouldn't be the booting snap, so any fix would be a no-op.
Possible ways to fix include:
- releasing an rsyslog SRU for 16.04, but as Michael points out this
Gave it a go - similar results to what happens when I first power it up
and log in - the trackpad controls the pointer for a few seconds then
stops once the desktop (I assume) is done loading.

No change. Still stops working after a few seconds once the full
desktop is active. Also I notice once it stops working at that point,
if I log out the trackpad continues to not work at the logon screen.
Rebooting the system brings back trackpad functionality until I log back
in.

I should note - I did try out xserver-xorg-input-synaptics yesterday
prior to getting your email, it had no effect
One thing I did find, I'm not sure if it has any bearing, but my current
