Dell Inspiron 15 (3521) i5 64bit laptop
With Ubuntu 12.04 and 12.10, the Dell Laptop would allow me to change
screen brightness using Fn+F4 (brightness down) and Fn+F5 (brightness
up).
After upgrading to 13.10, the buttons respond but I can only adjust
brightness one step

Saw the Invalid status.
Perhaps I should explain further. The Fn key combo was pre-assigned on
the laptop by DELL and worked very well with 12.04, 12.10 13.04
versions of Ubuntu.
Since at present there is no way to save my brightness settings to my
account, I could set the brightness each time
