It doesn't look like the new plasmoid will supported PPTP for Jaunty,
but I wouldn't let it be a deal-breaker. If you install the package
"network-manager-gnome", remove the Network Manager Plasmoid from your
desktop, put a link in ~/.kde/Autostart to /usr/bin/nm-applet, then
restart KDE,

I can confirm this on a clean (non-upgrade) install of Kubuntu Intrepid
64-bit, and I think the problem may be the casing of how it saves the
theme in use. I went to follow the edit instructions above, and opened
~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals. When I did, I saw the following line in

gotten an IP address. The gdesklet at the top of the screen recognizes

This is broken for me too. It worked in Dapper, but died during the
update to Edgy (tried on i386, AMD64, and PPC). Cannot connect to PPTP
using either kvpnc, or the pptpconfig program. (pptpconfig is not in
the Ubuntu repositories, but I'm of the opinion it should be added.

I recently "reclaimed" the Reiser SD card to FAT16 using edgy, and that
particular time it did not show the problem. Since that bug typically
took a few attempts to show, I'll see about getting another one and

If Kino is installed, but not ffmpeg, it will not be able to convert AVI
files to DV.

dialog asking which server to connect to, a username, and password (not
the best user interface for a game, but probably this is intended
