1. It only seems to happen with a bluetooth mouse that allows two finger
scrolling on the surface (I use an Apple Magic Mouse). Thus, it cannot

Thanks for the hint regarding backports. I had it set in the software
settings but obviously this did not include the budgie ppa.
The same dependency is still in place in ubuntu-budgie-desktop
Btw: It was not easy to figure out the source of several issues. I doubt
that ordinary users might go
This issue seems somehow related to #1710978.
Deinstalling tlp (and associated programs) the issue disappears.

There are several issues with tlp in budgie.
Uninstalling also removes budgie-desktop-environment and ubuntu-budgie-
desktop due to package dependencies.
budgie desktop should be installed in order to perform dist-upgrades.
With a broken tlp this is a risky constellation.
extended measures demonstrate a loss of connection every two minutes on
average.

bluetooth stack looses connection to bluetooth devices

After installing Firefox 55 the browser generates huge cpu load, startup
is extremely slow (it takes > 10s for the taskbar to accept entries
after launch (this is new to 55)
Due to high cpu load the computer tends to overheat, ventilation jumps
in making the machine
could be. I already had issues with TLP (related to suspend to RAM).
Must have been introduced with the latest kernel update though (as the
former issue has been resolved).

In Ubuntu Budgie bluetooth connection is lost in regular intervals
(5mins).
Thus my mouse stops working, my headset stops playing music.
Reconnecting my mouse takes ages requiring a restart of bluez and
reconnecting the mouse.
