Tried the PPA suggested in #34 and #36 but it didn't work. Of course I
substituted IT for NL but the system complained that packages were
already up to date and nothing changed. I'll be reinstalling shortly.

Upgraded 14.04LTS to 16.04LTS and now I have the same issue.
Downgrading to plasma-desktop-data_5.5.4-0ubuntu1_all.deb does NOT solve the

so. This only happens the first time, though.

Just bumped into this bug, I guess: clean install of Kubuntu 11.04 AMD64 using
alternate cd, full disk with guided partitioning.
Failed twice, checked the cdrom for errors and found none, spotted this report.
Workaround for me was symlink + cd'ing to /media/cdrom (just in case the link

ifdown/ifup works for me, crude hack as it may be.
I could find no docs for your suggestion, could you please clarify?

Here it is:

Bdale, looks like the Debian package has the same issue: it lacks the
string in comment #4 and presumably won't support ssh-security. Short of
changing upstream configure.in, would it be acceptable to add a build-
dep on ssh ?

The fine folks at Ubuntu probably fail to realize that a sizeable quota
of users switching away from That Other OS do so precisely because
they're fed up with sleazy moves like this one. If this moral
superiority goes away, so does their incentive to migrate. Plus, it

I installed this version from the mainline builds:
Linux mila 2.6.30-020630-generic #020630 SMP Wed Jun 10 09:04:38 UTC 2009 x86_64
With it, I was at last able to complete an amdump run over wifi.
Preliminary impression is good, will keep you posted.

Using 9.04 here and this bug is still alive and kicking: installing
xinetd does not solve the problem, but a reasonable workaround is to
comment out the IPv6 parts of /etc/hosts.

Amanda fails because client thinks server is IPv6 when it's IPv4.

Sorry for not noticing your build was i386-specific but, yes, basically
it works. Maybe later today I'll try rebuilding the 64bit kernel and
test that too.
