Hi Till. I tried another PC again, but this time with the HP. Now the print was
scaled correctly, although the quality was not as good as in Windows with

I'm not sure why you can't reproduce this. Are you perhaps on a strange
architecture, like ARM?
It isn't necessary to have the partner repo enabled - installing the
adobe-flashplugin package enables it.
When I search for "flash" I get 24 more results, not 7.

When software centre enables the partner repo, it does it by adding a
new entry to /etc/apt/sources.list.d
There is already a commented entry in /etc/apt/sources.list
This results in synaptic displaying that the partner repo is both
enabled and disabled at the same time. (se

Hi Till. I then did the HP PSC-1210 using CUPS in both Linux Mint and
Linux Pinguy. It was worse than the Brother by far see attached pic. I
could only print colour when dialog set as A4 and normal colour. If set
as photo paper and photo I got the picture stretched and grayscale as
the lower sample
in the driver
software as well.

Option 2 ~/.cups/lpoptions I renamed and made no difference.
there is no file in /etc/cups/lpoptions and permissions for the cups folder
were lp=none
here are the files in /etc/cups:
