Found a workaround: press CTRL+ALT+F1 to go into terminal mode, press
FN+BrightnessUp to reset brightness, press CTRL+ALT+F7 to go back to
Xwindows.
I am having exactly this problem on 14.04.1.

Network-manager randomly connects a wired connection set to "connect
automatically". Disabling auto connect on all wired connections remove
the problem of nm setting the wrong IP, but now it's constantly trying

I figured it out:
On my system, dhcp3 was a symlink pointing to dhcp (dunno why). Samba
expects two different directories here.
What I did:
cd /etc
rm dhcp3
cp -r dhcp dhcp3
apt-get -f install
Works like a charm. Samba puts a script file in /etc/dhcp/dhclient-
enter-hooks.d and links to that fi

Upon accessing a DVD drive connected to the card, the whole server
