I can confirm this - my system constantly shows a high load (> 1) when being idle. It seems to be disk access that is slow. I am running dm- crypt + LUKS + lvm2 + raid (hardware RAID 5 on a 3ware SATA controller with 5400umin disks). You can imagine that the system never was the fastest, but as it's only a storage server, I don't care so much. (raid/disks are fine)
Sometimes, the system even slows down to a load > 10. When this happens, boot takes ~10 minutes. This problem seems to occur randomly, or at least I had problems reproducing it each boot. I am running apport- collect 995284 now to confirm. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/995284 Title: High idle load on 64bit Ubuntu 12.04 with 3.2.0-24-generic kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/995284/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
