1. My server is Gutsy, my client is Feisty.
Let's enable xdmcp on gutsy: System -> Administration-> Login Window -> Remote,
now you can choose between "Same as Local" (in my tests it never has worked.
Ie: blank screen and back to local machine) and "Plain with face brow
Sebastien patch works on the following:
Edgy or Feisty to Gutsy (but simple style must be set on Gutsy)
Gusty to Gutsy,Feisty,Edgy (but you must Ctrl-Alt-F1 and 'sudo X :1 -query
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' on the client)
It does not work if style is set "as local" and one must 'sudo X ...' on gutsy.

Just the same problem on the following hardware:
MB: ASUS CUSI-FX bios rel 1018.005
CPU: PIII 800MHz
no PS2 mouse is detected as input device.
Maybe a 2.6.20 bug under SIS chipset mobos.

Same problem on a Asus CUSI FX bios rev. 1018.005. After the upgrading process
the ps/2 mouse stopped responding. I've tried different PS/2 mice but none
works! I had to use a USB mouse.
Mice under Edgy worked good.
