I didn't try alt-left click because I didn't know that is a possibility. If
it happens again I'll try that.
As Ubuntu grows and prospers there will be more and more people using it
who aren't Linux techies, so the GUI features need to work.

This is a kernel problem but I haven't a clue on how to fix it. Kernel
useing ubuntu-bug-p lunix bare instellation no extras just a mouse

Having found this thread, I created an empty .xbindkeysrc which made it
stop crashing. But yes, it's still an issue.
