you're right, my apologies.
however, let me rephrase:
amy:~> apt-cache show mediawiki1.10 | grep Recommends
Recommends: mysql-server | postgresql-8.1
amy:~> apt-cache show postgresql-8.2 | grep Filename
Filename: pool/main/p/postgresql-8.2/postgresql-8.2_8.2.5-1.1_i386.deb

and with recent kernels it works again...
screw the whole thing, it's been working flawlessly for some time now, so let's

dunno whether this is The Right Way(tm), although when installing mediawiki1.10
it fancies forcing a useless software disguised as a database system called
"mysql" on you. that really shouldn't be necessary as mediawiki1.10 can and

done lots more testing here, and i think i've figured out exactly what triggers
it:
i'm not sure if i mentioned it, but i also have a 5 meter extension cable. it

this is quite odd:
it appears that i won't get that stack trace when my iriver is connected to the
usb hub, but if only my mouse & keyboard is connected then i quite often get
that stack trace (and the mouse & keyboard goes all jumpy & non-responsive).

i believe the upgrade may have fixed the issue with collisions on irq 7 as the

i'm afraid -12 also crash :(
i don't know if this is of interest, but:
i boot with "noapic" as if i don't it'll crash as soon as i click "boot" (i'll
get some "kernel mapping" text at the bottom of the screen and it's stuck
there, no splash image or anything).
unless i boot with "irqpoll" i'll g
just thought i'd let you know that this still is an issue with 2.6.20-10.
if there's anything you'd like me to do (eg. compile kernel with some specific
