Just installed ekiga to a running 8.04 install (not livecd, 'real' install).
The behaviour seems to be the same - the tool needs restarting to consider
changed network settings.

Why is this bug marked as 'medium' importance? It looks like everybody with a
notebook with more than 1 core is affected. I guess this has to be marked
critical...
Can you (the owner of the bug) please change this?
Or is there a reason to leave it with lower importance?

Oh, I understand, so it is not 'critical', if you are considering ubuntu
as a server OS. However, if it is to be used on notebooks, then burning
battery when it's not needed, actually reducing battery's life to 1/2 or
2/3 should be considered a very serious issue.

New pidgin, 2.4 has an ugly chat text entry window - it is 'dynamic',
i.e resizes itself when 'it's needed', cannot be set by hand, seems to

On the same computer (running Xubuntu 10.10 ), open this page in both Google
Chromium and Firefox 4.0.
Then hit 'end', then hit 'home'. In Chromium, the movement is very fast,
firefox needs ~0.5 second to go to the end.
So it is the same computer, it is the same (nvidia proprietary) driver, it
just a small note, firefox 4.0 seems to be much better than previous
firefox versions, just that it is still much slower than chromium.
