One of my desktops is doing the same thing as my laptop above. The
biggest difference is the laptop was upgraded from 9.04. The desktop was
a fresh Lucid install with the beta2, then updated. Both are 64-bit.

I had something similar happen while running Firefox 3.6, 10.04 AMD64

When I updated to the latest kernel (2.6.32-17 generic AMD64) yesterday,
my default boot moved from Windows 7 at the bottom of my GRUB2 menu to 2
spots up and made the default memtest86+ and Windows 7 was still at the

madwifi.conf was/is created by madwifi. I try not to muck about in /etc
directories except as a last resort. Maybe it's a madwifi problem and
not strictly a jockey bug. I'm sticking with the FOSS driver for Atheros
(kernel blob?) for now.

underway. The bug isn't in Samba itself. If you can write your own
smb.conf file, samba will work. Additionally, I wasn't able to use the
Connect to Server item under Places, but could connect to my Windows
boxes with Network.
I found Dasher, which is part of the Gnome Desktop. It installs by
default in Ubuntu 8.04 and can be found under
SystemPreferencesAssistive Technologies. Dasher offers good potential
for people with motion disabilities. So disregard my previous post
