Yes, I tried Ubuntu Intrepid live cd, and works fine. Kernel says in my
Dell Vostro 401 that there is a problem in IRQ19 and recommend use
irqpoll in grub boot options, but boot fine without problems.

I have the same error with a new DELL Vostro 401. I couldn't boot with
any Live CD. No boot with ubuntu, and knoppix in any version. But at six
time Ubuntu boot, but on new reboot fails again. I put all_generic_ide
floppy=off irqpoll after -- in boot options and my Dell Vostro boot
perfect all
