I like the idea of assigning a default ubuntu logo to the Computer/root
filesystem, but allow the logo to also be customised through the
gnomevfs.
I think the appropriate name would be the machine's name.

You should attach the image you're using.
Grub will fail to display the image correctly unless it's in the right
.xpm format. ImageMagick can create the file for you.
convert -resize 640x480 -colors 14 picture.jpg ImageName.xpm

Well, I have the following as a work around to get aticonfig to set low power
mode:

In /etc/default/fglrx, uncomment/set:
FGLRX_ACPI_SWITCH_POWERSTATES=true

In /etc/default/fglrx, uncomment/set:
FGLRX_ACPI_SWITCH_POWERSTATES=true
Same problem with San Disk Extreme III CF with Verbatim CF/PCMCIA
adapter.

PCMCIA/Compact Flash does not recognize/automount CF flash card
Rebooted now can mount CF card (doesn't automount however).
