I found another error/bugdon't know it is related to this or not:
if directory name contains space and symbol (for example: New
Old), opening this directory by 'open as root' will pop up an error
message showing command not found!

It happens almost every time. When i click the turn off in kubuntu, the
screen goes blank with some ghosting.the harddisk is still running
the LED is still on. I can only press the on/off button physically in
order to make the laptop completely off.

Sorry, typo mistake. The system setting in kubuntu shows 43 Hznot
48Hz.
My laptop support up to 1440x900 screen resolution at 60Hz. It is
running kubuntu 7.04 with Kernel 2.6.20-16.
