Might be CDROM drive related (see below) Similar experience with the 10.04-1 CD ie computer boots on the CD but hangs with message indicating problem mounting /dev/loop. CD is verified OK and boots on other computers. Problem seen on old Compaq Deskpro desktop (1 Ghz Intel CPU) and a VIA EPIA

Suggst this affect release notes for all releases with an upgrade path from Hardy. This should probably be mentioned in the release notes since affected users (including myself) has no problem when running Hardy, but will lose the internet connection when using a release with this issue in. The

Public bug reported: Issue #274069 makes Intrepid less tolerant than Hardy to buggy dhcp servers. Consequence is that some users upgrading from Hardy to Intrepid may lose Internet contact permanently until a workaround is applied. Note that this is technically not an Ubuntu/Linux problem -- but
