Happy to say that upgrading from LTS focal to LTS jammy on the same laptop
resolved the sleep issue completely without any need for manual intervention.
I'm quite surprised that this ticket is open for so long with a high "heat"
indicator without a formal response from Canonical or Dell. The lap
I also have been experiencing this exact same issue (on the same Lenovo
hardware) from 6.8.0 (both official Ubuntu and mainline kernels) through
to 6.9.3 (mainline).
Mainline seems to have skipped a number of 6.9.x releases so the next
available 6.9 kernel after 6.9.3 is 6.9.9.

I confirmed that I did have the Unknown Display problem so I blacklisted
simpledrm_platform_driver_init ass suggested and the extra display went
away. However, gnome apps continue to segfault while in a Wayland
session.

Looks like this patch solves the problem as we have a symlink in the
test path. This needs to be applied to Ubuntu's hwe-5.4 and hwe-5.13
kernels. Probably anywhere else the above commits got backported to.

gnucash.org, build it from source after `apt-get build-dep gnucash` with

configuration file and it's reverting to the default settings, but then

I just ran into this bug: https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?61239 . In
particular, apticron used the mailutils version of /usr/bin/mail to send
me an email message, and the Date header in the email message had a
completely bogus UTC offset in it.
