I have this problem too. I have a Vaio FS315-S, which will hibernate, but will not resume from suspend. On waking up, the hard drive makes noises, the cd drive makes noises, but I can't switch to a tty and back again to bring X back, nor can I ssh in. uname -a is Linux bunny 2.6.20-13-generic
