my problem is, that date modified column usually gets hidden (though I
usually want to order by it)
most of width-space is taken by long filenames and file type names.
maybe there could be option when window is not wide enouth,
to calculate filenames-column

when I start gnome-sound-properties and test sound recording it always throws
Failed to construct test pipeline for 'gconfaudiosrc ! audioconvert !

even though I can hear the recorded sound...
By the way, by default I couldn't hear anything
Yes, the problem I think, is that ALL repositories were disabled by defautl

similar problems for me (only with gutsy)
sudo ifup eth0 doesn't help, as it doesn't see the interface
but sometimes it vanishes, sometimes - not, I couldn't find the rule
(I tried to hibernate with unpulgged cabel, and then wake up with plugged and
