I have the same problem (Starting the Firestarter firewall[failed]).
I have created the script in /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d, made it
executable as Boris Maras proposed. However I still get the same message
when booting (well I have to do Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to see the message).

Well it seems the problem has disappeared recently but I don't really

laptop module with force=1 loaded. It is true that now there is a LCD
brightness slider in Gnome power manager applet but it still doesn't
have any effect on the actual brightness settings. The only way for me

I have the same problem with hddtemp however the sensor applet doesn't
save the change of the CPU icon as wellso it may probably not only
be hddtemp. I'm on Feisty and gconfd-2 is running as well.
