I've just tried mythbuntu-diskless in intrepid.
It uses aufs to put a writable NFS overlay on top of a squashfs file
system mounted via NBD. It fails during boot with a stacktrace. I'll
attach both logs, but I really only care about aufs.

If you specified your TV-Out standard in the installer, than it should
have put that in xorg.conf. I'll mark this as a bug report against
ubiquity.
In MCC itself, you can use nvidia-settings so there is no need to add
such a setting to MCC itself.

I have been able to track down this issue. It doesn't happen because
optimize_mythdb.pl moved. The problem is caused by incorrect usage of
'su'. I'll bzr push a patch later.

sorry if I offended you. I'm actually subscribed to this bug through the
Mythbuntu team.
I've just tried system-config-samba. Except for #213942 which is
probably easily solved (if touching /etc/libuser.conf is the correct
solution), it looks pretty good.

I've just patched my ati driver and DRM video sync works now. Since the
original scope of this bug report was OpenGL video sync, I'm not sure if
it's appropriate but oh well..
I modified the ATI driver as suggested in that thread on mythtv-users.

for me. Judging by the mythtv-users thread you've posted, my problem
might be related. I'll try to recompile the ati driver on this box.
