After closing the program from the X in the main window, the process keeps
running. If i was playing music it doesn't stop and i have to 'killall
beep-media-player' to get back the control of sound.
The only particularity that has my system is that i have two sound cards
$ c
edgy,
the lastests lines are there for a workaround with my previous dapper
version (it's not an edgy fresh install)

I don't know if it's a desired feature on edgy. But after select the kernel to
boot my system on grub, starts the load and inmediately appears, at the bottom
of the screen the message "Kernel direct mapping tables up to 1000
it starts happens since my first dist-upgrade to edgy.
In the previous linux-images (from edgy) at shutdown i got this message:

after that, processing goes 100% (i knew that because the fan starts
working hard) and after a while didn't seen to c

yes, the patchs you refer seems to be more appropiate (and adds force feedback
too). The one i did was just to getting the things work, not came exactly from
a kernel hacker :)
