introductory text, and a 4x4 grid of application icons to the left, most
of which I don't recognise.
Some if the icons are faded out, but the 2x2 grid in the middle are more
opaque, drawing my attention to them.
When I made the initial report, it was happening every time, but now it
doesn't seem to be. I will keep an eye on the issue and provide the

I am experiencing this issue on 16.04 LTS when resuming from suspend.
Running `sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager.service` works around the
issue and brings the network back up.

plug in my headphones, an unknown audio device dialog pops up asking
whether I've plugged in headphones or a headset. This is isn't a great
user experience as my phone can auto-detect the device.

I have upgraded my entire network to Lucid Lynx - server and desktops.
I have not had this recur in such a disastrous way - being unable to
login via gdm at all, until a complete reformat and re-install.
This may be related, or may be a new problem. I'm not sure, but it
