Actually doing modprobe -r pcspkr does not solve it... maybe it's not
really the system beep (sounds softer indeed) but coming from the video
card? Not sure if that's possible. I'm running nvidia drivers.

To be completely fair, I've installed a second hard drive before
upgrading to Intrepid, and some time before that I've added 3rd RAM
module (while still on Hardy, no problems then after that). I mean it
may be too much power consumption, and one of the hw components
complaining. I'll try
Problem solved, I've increased the value of the CPU warning temperature
in BIOS.

On Intrepid x86-64, whenever there is continously high CPU activity, the
system beep is emitted many, many times. Very annoying and I've never
experienced this on my computer before... only after I installed
Intrepid a few days ago.

I installed language-support-sr, restarted X, but was still not able to
find a cyrillic layout.
Later I installed language-support-extra-sr, language-pack-sr, language-
pack-gnome-sr (why so many?), logged out, restarted X in GDM with Ctrl-
Alt-Backspace. Then I was getting an error message
