I have exactly the same message on Mint 11. Gnome crashes and returns me

After some frustration with this issue, I did a fresh install. I
installed the French language pack and added it as a language to the
systems settings languages - but did not make it a system default
language. My motivation was that I wanted it available as a choice
within applications, but not as
