It has never been reliable and - as we can see in every day experience - it has
never been tested properly.
My favorite method for network configuration is the one used in Red Hat 5

One can stop 30 containers and the host machine and the host machine, by
issuing a simple command on one of the containers and you say urgency is just
"low"? Wasn't it at least "medium", if not "high"?

I disagree, for a simple reason.
At the time that we were using Evolution 2.28 in Ubuntu Lucid, an identical
issue was raised and you were saying absolutely the same: 2.30 is still buggy
and so on
I have been using evolution 2.30 taken from a PPA, and I didn't have any issue
so far.

Milan, first of all, as I can see the "adduser" command has a switch
"--force-badname" that can be used in this case.
But, if you use this option every kind of strange character will be used. In
other words, if you want to use the dot, you need to pass this option only when
dot(s) appear in the

Ubuntu installer is affected as well, and I've read on forums about some novice
user not being able to perform the installation as of this issue.

This is not a bug in my opinion. This is happening because LXC does not support
udev, it has some extra trouble with upstart, and I suspect you didn't disable
udev on your container.
For the moment just try to disable these upstart jobs located in /etc/init/:
udev.conf
udev-finish.conf
udevm
well: perhaps karmic is still affected and I don't have karmic anymore.

I have the very last version of the BIOS and the screen was flickering.

This is not yet fixed.
If you use Gnome, the easiest workaround is to install guidance-power-manager
(from KDE) and than create a symlink:
$ cd /usr/bin
$ mv gnome-power-manager gnome-power-manager.save
$ ln -sf /usr/share/k
I agree the closure of this but (also because I don't like that I wrote the
word "sucks" in the subject).
Anyway the problem is still there: the update-manager shouldn't have any bind
to libraries that will be updated during the update process.
If - for any reason (*) - the update hangs, you won'

This issue is still there from one year and I would like to migrate my XFS
filesystem.
This feature was added to Veritas filesystem, during the pleistocene epoch, and
a little bit later, after the the firt glaciation, was seen first time in XFS.

Final Workaround:
I disabled in the BIOS "fan controlled from operating system".
My BIOS allows to set a fixed speed (from 50% up to 100%) or speed controlled
by operating system.
Now I have put the speed fixed to 50% and this is fixed fixed fixed.

I suspect the priority cannot be medium if you have to reboot a server.
kacpid cannot be killed and right now I didn't find a workaround.

I have just removed the service "acpi-support" and now it seems to be fixed.
--> update-rc.d -f acpi-support remove
I suppose the bug is on such script, because on my laptop works
properly, but on the desktop causes this problem.

Of course, booting with acpi=off fix this problem.
But it creates many other problems: cannot run compiz, console framebuffer
doesn't work, X server becomes pretty slow.
