I have 2 disks on the same machine with 13.04.
The one that is a 1T hard drive has no problems.
The one on a 12o GB SSD produces the results listed in previous comment.
This drive has discard added in fstab.

As per the attached screenshot. I have been updating daily. The
package information was last updated would normally say less than one
hour. I am getting time since fresh install. I expect tomorrow it will
say 8 days right after I press "check" and install what ever updates
that are available.
Checked for updates, installed ia32 libs. It now states 8 days

I have an ATI HD5750. My current working system failed the first reboot after
yesterdays update.
The current Xorg.0.log is 0 bytes in size, thus I attached Xorg.0.log.old.
Lucid 10.04 2.6.32.19 appears on grub. I was able to boot using recovery mode.
Update/upgrade to not resolve issue.
As
Since last update to working system was linux-kernel. Reinstalling
fglrx resolved the problem to the previously working system.
I do not have a second system to ssh into one of my fresh installs from
daily build. The installation fails before I enter any of the install

Felix, all your statements are correct. "xrandr --output CRT2 --left-of
DFP4" used after login to get screen on left side. I can not find place
in amdcccle to do this move.
The HD5750 is a PowerColor AX5750 1GBD5-S3DH s/n:PG0911022829.
The main LCD is a Benq m2400hd connected by DVI cable to top
Using drag and drop via amdcccle to reposition screen works. Operations
moving a gnome-terminal to all areas of both screens was great. Visual
Effects in Appearance Preferences is set to extra.
The blender 2.5 screen was randomly garbled until I disabled second
screen with amdcccle.
The analog
If Visual Effects in Appearance Preferences is set to none, blender 2.5
works well with second monitor enabled.
Visual Effects of normal or extra cause blender to garble unless second
monitor is disabled.

Have switched from radeonhd to today's radeon and put memory back to 4GB.
Single screen works fine.
xrandr does not see alternate outputs. There is also a warning that

I just installed a fresh copy of Jaunty Alpha 3 using ext4.
All install attempts stopped with "PANIC:early exception ... " until I
removed the HD3450.
After getting the system built from scratch without the HD3450, I re-
installed the HD3450 and my previous xorg.conf.
System works OK as before.

Just did fresh install using Jaunty Alpha 4 using ext4.
It tried to use 1152x864 on my 1024x768 screen. I went back to live cd mode
and reduced resolution. Every thing went fine from there. First boot was in
1152x864 using radeon. Edited xorg.conf to get virtual size up for second
screen.

I had the same problem as described in bug 408773 today.
sudo /etc/init.d/apparmor stop

The next few updates resulted in a totally unusable system. I tried
using the daily build from 3-Jul-09 to rebuild from scratch; however: it
resulted in a blank screen.
I will try the next few daily builds.
I am using an ATI HD3450 graphic card and a AMD 3800+ cpu.

When I copy a file to a new name, I can edit the copy. When I try to
edit the original, gedit screen comes up and then exits immediately.
