The problem was so bad for me I gave up on Xubuntu altogether and installed Manjaro (Arch fork) with the XFCE GUI. I haven't had the issue on Manjaro and I have it on multiple computers. So it doesn't seem to be specifically an XFCE problem... I would like to install Xubuntu on my husband's
