Bugs,
I installed Lucid on an IBM T42 last night and noticed a persistent high
load average I've not seen on another machine that I installed Lucid on.
At the moment the average has been close to 0.50 and 0.65 and last night
was running around 1.40. Running top shows no individual process using

Solved for me.
On advice from other bug reports and app-port, I installed the linux-

continued. Further reading led me to a link where it was stated that

@Stefan Goldmann: When I tried this PA became unreponsive, two of my cpu
threads were at 100% and no sound. Reverting the changes brought back
sound. Any ideas? Tried both surround40, surround51 and other

Wish this bug had a bit more attention.

I tried 10.04 beta, and did a update today, then the problem happened.
Thank KentCrawford. Now at least I could explore the file system
without Detailed List. ^_^

Thanks Martin. The packages work.
For some reason they wouldn't install using APT, so I downloaded them and used
dpkg to install them.
APT always came back and told me I had the latest version.
I suspect it's because I used to have Jon's PPA and his version number
is higher than yours, but
I'm not at a level where I feel comfortable creating my own packages
from source, which looks like something you did here. My previous
attempts have failed spectacularly.
Are you in a position to share the package you built?

Intrepid regression: carriage-return required after finger scan
Looks like this bug is back in 10.04. Exact same symptoms.
I tried adding Jon's PPA, but there's no packages for Lucid.
Anyone got any ideas? I'm not really keen on the X hack, although I'm
more comfortable with it than the patch Samuel Piau wrote about,
primarily because I understand what the X
I get the same issue on fully updated Lucid (Release Candidate). I use
xrandr -x, cursor disappears. I lock screen and cursor reappears. Very
annoying bug. Did not have this issue on Karmic.
