Same error here, same botched upgrade.
I was able to boot to a recovery kernel - I told it to continue the boot
process as normal, at which point I was able to get a prompt and run
apt-get dist-upgrade -f. The upgrade continued and my host is now
fully upgraded.

Exact same experience here - with backend = polling, as included in
fail2ban 0.8.6-3's /etc/fail2ban/jail.conf, fail2ban uses Gamin and does
not properly monitor /var/log/auth.log and ban as expected. When I
switch this to backend = polling fail2ban works as expected.

in and I haven't received an accidental right-click when two-finger

Dell Latitude E6520, Ubuntu 11.04 AMD64 here. Installing psmouse-alps-
dkms_0.1_all.deb returned the Touchpad preferences and two-finger
scrolling works well.
My experience mirrors that of several others:
* Running sudo rmmod psmouse; sudo modprobe psmouse froze my system and
I apologize if my experience is slightly off topic, but I was also
unable to close tabs in Pidgin (Ubuntu 11.04 beta, Pidgin 2.7.11) - the
tab would just re-open as the right-most tab. Further, when I closed the
