In the system settings, no app has access to the microphone. The camera app

Might be related to the radeon HD audio device. I have Radeon HD 5000
graphics card with HDMI output and the audio works quite ok with alsa,
but jackd gives tons of xruns, no matter what period/buffer settings I
try. This BUG could be the reason for that. I'm getting this:

I can also confirm this bug on any kernel newer than 3.2.0-23. The distro does
NOT make any difference, every ubuntu spin(have not tried mint linux), fedora,

Hello, could you explain what are the gen4 fixes. I'm using libgl1-mesa-
dri 8.1~git20120509.788fd04d-0ubuntu0sarvatt~precise and still
experience the same.
I can reproduce this bug 100%. Also there is a workaround, just using
Gnome classic (No effects). But if I use anything fancy which has
desktop effects, all I need to do is mplayer some video, and as soon as
screen saver starts to dim the screen, computer just shuts down.

Same problem here. Parallel port printer HP LaserJet 1100
If I shut down cups, unload the modules (lp,ppdev,parport,parport_pc)
and reload the modules, dmesg says 'lp: driver loaded but no devices
found'

kpowersave's suspend gave the login screen after resume.
s2ram however worked ok, so I assigned the XF86Shutdown key to my sleep
button and made it run s2ram, so I was happy.
