+1 for version 9.10, I didn't see this on 9.04. Description is identical
to ginalfa's - I had a CD which was mounting correctly (it had the 9.10
image on it :D ), then I overwritten it using Brasero (which is what I
guess nautilus uses by default when you tell it to write to disc by
default), and

Sorry for the double post, ran the second time as root, to include dmesg log,
although im not sure how much it will help.
Problem still exists with the alpha version of 9.10.
Again, the workaround IS still valid:
Muting the front channel in volume control will mute the front speakers, but
not

Same problem/workaround exists with the latest kernel.
Tested on my current 9.04 install, since I didn't want to do a 9.10 install -
however I don't think that would have made much of a difference.
Cheers

As per title, I am randomly sent back to my login screen, sometimes after
exiting Warcraft/Starcraft from wine, other while just browsing etc.
I am not running compiz
ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: amd64
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04

Hm, now I am pretty sure that I can reproduce this after every Starcraft
exit... I play a battle.net game, and after I exit the game, X restarts.
Here is how I start Starcraft:
env WINEPREFIX=/home/grim/.wine wine C:\Program
Files\Starcraft\Starcraft.exe -opengl

I took out the -opengl flag and now it doesn't seem to reset, I will see
if this behaviour happens again without the -opengl flag.

Currently I am on

x86_64 GNU/Linux
and the issue is still present.
I have found a workaround: muting the front channel, will mute the speakers
Check the bug 229330.
I had/still have the same problem, but got a workaround. Not sure if it will
work for you, but you can try to mute the front channel in the volume control (
do not lower the volume, the headphones still depend on that volume level, just
mute it).
For me, that mutes the
