I can confirm the bug in Kubuntu 13.10, the attached patch works for me.
(The trouble seems to be that /usr/bin/qdbus links to /usr/bin/qtchooser
which does not seem to work as expected.)

See the following .desktop file: It adds a right-click action (at least
in KDE) which allows users to add items to their ~/.safe-rm file. With a
little shell script this might be improved to avoid duplicates and maybe
even to remove files from the ~/.safe-rm prevention list.
One small change, the Exec line needs one dummy argument because bash -c
fills the command line arguments starting from $0:

Well, the current state for ecb is clearly broken (uninstallable), so

are changed correctly, i.e. if the given directories don't exist, an
error pops up saying so. Starting non-GTK window managers works
correctly, but GTK programs (most prominent example: Firefox) then hang

I just had the same problem (also KPackageKit on 11.04), the only
workaround I could find was to do a sudo apt-get upgrade on the
terminal, to get at least the necessary updates done.

I don't know if this is exactly the same error, but I get something very
similar. A quite minimal testcase is included as an attachment. It can
be produced by pdftex from the following source:

I get a very similar behaviour, probably the same bug, when connecting
objects _within_ a group. At least there's a workaround that works in
most cases: Select the group, ungroup it, and group it again. This is

This still happened with a fresh install of the current
kubuntu-7.10-desktop-i386.iso (from ftp5.gwdg.de, md5 ok). After those
segfaults adept_updater claimed a new version of kubuntu was available.
It then tried to upgrade to 7.10 (silly of course, since it was on 7.10
already), but was hanging
