that's ok for dumb users but not for people like me - so I will switch
back to Debian. I'm sorry to leave ubuntu, because I thought it was a
really good distro, but if you don't get the package dependencies right,
there's not much point trying to make a distro at all.

Upgrade from karmic to l
One of the other workarounds would have been a lot better. This bug bit
me with the released version of lucid, and I don't really appreciate
having to spend however many hours hacking around it to fix package
dependencies. It bit me because instead of doing a dist-upgrade, I just
did apt-get inst
I must say I find the response of the maintainer here totally
unacceptable. This bug should be marked release-critical not wishlist.
The bug-fix should be released to the ubuntu security distributions.

Please configure slay NOT to be in mean mode, and not to kill the user's own
processes if they accidentally run it without sudo. It's not funny, please fix
this stupid program.
Since when is it acceptable to kill all the user's processes as a kind of
twisted joke
To fix this bug, on the server type:
apt-get install xkb-data
then type:
setxkbmap
(or restart nx)
The file /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/xorg is the file that was needed.
This could be fixed with a dependency in one of the nx packages.
As of now, the problem still occurs with the latest nx p

I experienced this problem also, when attempting to encode a movie using
H.264 in an mp4 container (if I recall correctly). It should be
reproducible with this configuration. It appears to be a buffer overrun
bug in MP4Box, which is picked up by apparmor I think. It might not
cause a crash when not

I have used the "slay" program before and found it useful to clear out
unwanted processes. But I discovered a new "feature" today, the so-
called "mean" mode, which is that if someone accidentally runs slay
without root privileges, slay defaults to k
Originally this bug report did not refer to the automatic opening of
external content, it got hijacked. So it's not a duplicate of bug 33038.
When downloading files, firefox puts them to /tmp, instead of the
Desktop. This happens for files where you choose "open" instead of "save
as".
