Binary package hint: openoffice.org-base
Hi,
I have just tried the new openoffice 3.1 that will be adopted in Karmic.
I have tried the jaunty version from the PPA (and bounced back to 3.0.1
immediately)
OO 3.1 appears to have a huge problem that IMHO should be addressed

Hi,
now that the patch is known, is there a fixed deb, at least in some ppa?

Apparently not a bug in the xorg ati driver but in the kernel.
Kernel 2.6.29.1 from the mainline ppa fixes the bug for me. Now my
radeon 9600XT works smoothly and it is notably faster at many things
than the proprietary driver.
Pre-built mainline kernels are a truly wonderful innovation!!!

Hi,
same issue here on a PC with AMD Athlon and Intrepid 32 bit, Radeon
9600XT and radeon driver.
Screen freezes, only the mouse cursor moves. Keyboard is dead.
System is alive, though. Only X is locked up.
