As of today i have the same problem in Kubuntu Karmic. I have been using
suspend to ram on this computer since I bought it in April 2010 and
never had problems before.

This "minor" bug is going to cause me to switch to some other operating
system.
It isn't minor when I click on the close button of a window, and instead
my O/S closes the window behind it. This behavior can literally cost me
money (and has).

Clicking the title of a window is bringing a window
turns out opensuse is affected after all, so it is not a kubuntu-
specific problem. i will report it to kde.

Bug can be reproduced using other non-latin unicode scripts. See
attachments screenshot2.png and 04.tex using gothic letter small o (i
used freeware font code2001). Gothic is encoded in unicode plane 1,
double byte characters. i used 50 gothic letters o per line, bug appears
in line 1434 col. 55. E

the »questionmark« actually replaces a sign, the line only appears
longer because of the higher width of the questionmark compared to the
small cyrillic o.
i attach a screenshot in case you cannot reproduce the problem. the
screenshot shows the very last block of text in 01.tex when opened with
